An e-mail list for the Fingerlakes Unschoolers Network, located in and around Ithaca, New York. Despite the name, this group is not really an unschooling group. It's a group for homeschoolers in the area, regardless of "style" or reasons for homeschooling. The list is mostly announcements of events and activities, rather than discussion, although it is certainly acceptable to ask questions.

Train Up a Child offers a literature-based homeschool curriculum based written from a Christian worldview using Charlotte Mason methods.

The reason for the failure of the traditional education system is, ironically, that uses "schooling." Children learn, not from schooling, but from living. And for them, living means playing.

Book titles, short synopses, authors' names, publishers, and years of print make up the bulk of the guide. Helene A. Guerber wrote histories for grammar school children in the 19th century. Published in 1896 by the American Book Company, ‘Guerber’s Historical Readers in the Eclectic Readings Series’ were used to introduce children to the histories of the ancient and classical world.
